Getting started: Enrolling in ADSelfService Plus
Before you can use ADSelfService Plus to reset your password, unlock your account, or perform other sensitive actions, you need to enroll for MFA. Think of MFA enrollment as introducing yourself to the system; it's how ADSelfService Plus learns to recognize and verify you.
Enrollment involves registering one or more pieces of identifying information with ADSelfService Plus, such as your mobile number, email address, or answers to security questions. From that point on, whenever you need to verify your identity (for example, when resetting a forgotten password), ADSelfService Plus will prompt you for that information to confirm it's really you.
A few things to know
- Enrollment is mandatory. Enrollment is a one-time process, and it's required before you can use any of ADSelfService Plus' self-service features.
- You may be prompted automatically. If your IT administrator has enabled forced enrollment, you'll see a prompt to enroll the next time you log in to your computer, helping you take care of it right away.
- Your admin can enroll you. In some cases, your IT administrator may complete the enrollment process on your behalf, so check with them if you're unsure whether you've already been enrolled.
